Whitby Gothic Weekend which started in 1994 to celebrate all things dark and mysterious has now grown to a twice yearly event for Goths. Whitby was partly chosen because Bram Stoker wrote his famous Dracula story in the fishing town with the Gothic Whitby Abbey as his inspiration.
